MSW installations

For MSW installations Walair delivers air separation installations till a capacity of approx. 40 t/h. Mayor key elements are the backopeners and the drumscreens. One drumscreen can be used till a capacity of 15 t/h. Above that we advise to place two drumscreens. With the use of two drumscreens we advise to screen the large from the smaller fraction first. For example 220 mm- and 220mm fraction. With the 220 mm fraction it is possible to place a Walair air separator or a Walair drum separator. With these air separators it is possible to separate the flat material, for example the MSW collection bags. With the second drum screen we remove the 50 mm fraction. The fraction of the drumscreen outlet, the 50 till 220 mm, is transported with a conveyor to a Walair 3-way separator. The special Walair 3-way separator separates material in 3 ranges of waste streams. A heavy, a 3d and a light fraction or flat part fraction. In the 3d fraction is still a small amount of light fraction, circa 10 till 15 procent. This light fraction can be removed by hand, with an air or a ballistic separator. The cleaned 3d fraction which remaines can be split further with optical sorters. The big advantage of the Walair separation systems is that all the flat paper, plastic and foils directly are removed with air separation. And the 3d fraction is directly avaible for further treatment. With the Walair separation systems input capacaties are possible, which will never be possible with screening and ballistic separators. Also the amount of optical sorters is significantly decreased. Resuming By using the Walair drum separators the capacity will be a lot higher, the investment is lower and the amount of optical sorters will be significantly decreased and hand picking can be minimized.
