RDF installations
The Walair standard drum separator and the simplefied drum separator Lite are used for RDF installations. The drum separators are removing heavy parts from a rdf fraction. The heavy parts consist of stones, glass, metals, wood, etc. etc. By removing the heavy parts the knives and the screen of the secondary shredder will last a lot longer. So a lot less maintenance and a longer life for the secondary shredder. The drum separators can handle fraction sizes till 350 mm with a max. capacity of 50 ton/h (250 kg/m3). Besides the single drum separator, Walair also uses the 3-way drum separator for RDF installations. This separator is used for bio compost or when RDF is made of MSW out of this type of waste the separator removes heavy parts 3d waste and after that the light fraction. The 3d outlet can be combinated with an optical sorter which can remove the waste with a too high chlorine level. The optical sorter can also be combinated with a magnet and a eddy current. Walair doesn’t use air separators for the RDF installations, because the capacity is too limited.
